Laurrhie Brouns

This girl's voice is a powerhouse. I'm going to say no more and no less until you've clicked the magical "read more" button. You deserve this. Treat yasself.

Being the social media addict - and highly predictable person that I am - meant that, as is the norm, I discovered Laurrhie Brouns on Twitter. Admittedly, it was a few months ago that I initially came across this lady, but things life got in the way of me being able to blog consistently, so I apologise that this post is only coming to you now.

So, where do I start? Well,  Laurrhie has a big Twitter following - 2K+ to be exact - and only follows 127 accounts (myself included, just FYI, which I consider a huge privilege) and her credits are already insane for someone who is only 26; she has performed three times at the main Arena in Amsterdam for crowds of 50,000 each time, has done a club tour across the Netherlands, *Remembers to breathe*, shared the stage with Emeli Sandé and Bob Marley’s legendary band The Wailers, played the role of Shandra in the Dutch big screen movie Alleen maar nette mensen, *breathes again*, was accepted into the prestigious Dutch National Ballet Academy and, to top all of that off, appeared on the Dutch version of The Voice in 2012, where she made it to the third live show. Judges dubbed her "the discovery" and "the one to watch" and it's easy to understand why.

Her voice and overall sound is full of soul, power, emotion and control - many credits that are required of international megastar *divas such as Adele, Beyonce and Alicia Keyes - all of which I would very much like to align Laurrhie's talents to... but there's more. Not only does Laurrhie's music incorporate elements of soul and R&B both within her vocals and instrumentals, but she has entwined  this with K-pop to add a unique twist, which Laurrhie calls EuroKpop!

It's not something I'm really able to describe to you, which is why you need to treat yasself. It's probably going to be something new for you but, you never know, you may really fall in love.

I'm purposely only embedding two videos to this post, as I really want you to go and check out Laurrhie Brouns social media.

You know what to do.

*My use of Diva does not imply that one is temperamental, but a famous female singer. Delete as applicable. Or not. Whatever you choose to do is your choice.
