Introducing: Jamie-Lee Dimes

For her debut release, Australian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jamie-Lee Dimes has explored the idea of Liminality: a psychological state in which ones identity dissolves and normal limits to thought, self understanding and behaviour are undone, which, subsequently, means that we have a thing of beauty on our hands.

Jamie-Lee began her performing arts career in the dance studios of Broadway, New York, in 2013, where she has built on the foundations of a music degree, classical ballet and contemporary dance disciplines by drawing inspiration from musical influences such as PJ Harvey, Cat Power, Kim Gordon and Nick Cave to bring us an eery, dark, thought-provoking and unique cinematic musical experience.

On return from America to Australia, Jamie-Lee worked with engineer and producer Callum Barter (Kurt Vile, Courtney Barnett, Dirty Three), partnered up with guitarist Daniel Hallpike (The Grand Rapids, Our Mountain) and Violinist Jeremy Lowen to record Liminality, which has already been released and is available for you to purchase here

This album is gripping. The lyrics and moody instrumentals will make you think and question things you never knew you were thinking about or wanting to question in the first place. I can't describe what Jamie-Lee Dimes' debut album has done to me, but I am very grateful.

Prepare for your headspace to be completely altered.
