I don't get many music submissions but, when I do, they are never really fitting for my personal music tastes or the array of music I want to cover on the blog. As this has been the case for a while, I must admit my hopes weren't high when I saw I had an email from George Montague sitting in my inbox. How I love being proven wrong.
Actually, scrap that. I hate being proven wrong, but hey, what do you know. It's happened and now I am a firm fan of the lovely gentleman in question who, by the way, just happens to be ultra talented and ultra genuine.
His new album, Curiouser and Curiouser George, fuses his signature styles of pop, jazz and rock to create a catchy, stand out piece of work that showcases his wide variety of vocal and instrumental skills. His voice, for me, is a mixture of *Mika's controlled and soft voice that is comfortably able to reach the higher notes that sits alongside a softer, **more rock inspired vocal.
I could talk about - and analyse - George and his wonderful new album for hours to come, but I think to myself 'what's the point in boring you when you could just listen to his music within the confines of my blog post?' (because I'm nice and thoughtful like that).
And just because it's Christmas...
I hope you enjoyed his music and, if you'd like to follow him on his social media channels, just click the below links
Totally only just realised that he has one of those cool verified ticks on his Facebook page... I think this just made me fan-girl a little!
*I know that Mika is one of those kind of artists some people don't admit to listening to or liking, so I have a premonition that, to some, this isn't a compliment. Trust me though, it is. Both artists are unquestionably talented.
**I really should try and stop comparing musicians I blog about to more mainstream artists because I have the voice of who they compare to in mind, but I can't actually place their name.
