I seem to have an alarmingly sized backlog of musicians that I am yet to blog about (but I promise I am getting round to) that is rapidly increasing minute upon minute, hour by hour and day in day out. It's a bittersweet feeling when you're so excited about all the discoveries you find yourself making, yet daunting when you try and think about how to get them all out within a short enough time period.
On this particular occasion, however, I think I may have messed up just a little bit. Okay, a lot. Berlin based band, Murmur Tooth, got into contact with me this July (actually, this may be a definite fuck up on my account) introducing themselves and their music. When you're being emailed by bands, record labels, Music PR agencies, management and whoever else whilst ALSO making your own discoveries, it's sometimes hard to keep on top of who you have blogged about, who you haven't blogged about and who you really need to blog about right now. I am currently at that "right now" period with Murmur Tooth. Not only because it's been so long since I first received their email (again, oops) but because they are so different to any band I have blogged about before. So let me stop ranting so I can introduce them to you.
Murmur Tooth is a three-piece band from Berlin who, on their website, describe their music as being "sometimes dark, sometimes light" whilst "combing a driving rhythm section with dirty guitars and soaring female vocal harmonies".
I feel the short band description alongside the below reviews was enough to firmly sway me into wholeheartedly loving Murmur Tooth...
"The songs are strong and do what songs are meant to do: draw you in, intrigue you, instil a sense of movement so you have the sense you'll be taken somewhere and maybe even be brought back again afterwards"
Indie Berlin
"Alarming and alluring... Their clever moulding of the sludgy gloomy side of grunge and more hopeful upbeat pop sounds works wonders, and makes for a compelling and refreshing listen throughout. You should happy sink your teeth into this!"

... And with that, I think you are ready.
Within less than 30 seconds of listening to 'Knees are Clean', I feel this intense bought of power come over me. I don't know why, how or where it comes from, but I feel ready to conquer the world with their music playing through my headphones.
And again with 'Bumps'.
Ah, and on 'And I Wait' too. I can imagine this song playing at the start - or end, actually (let's not be picky here) - on some 90's themed film or TV series. A part of me feels it would work very well as the intro and outro to Orange is The New Black. Anyone agree?
Upon listening to the EP titled The Room over on Bandcamp, which the above songs derive from, I have concluded that their music is moody, grungy, rocky and makes me feel simultaneously too cool for my own boots and inadequate with the small amount of coolness I actually do posses. This is a situation I have never actually found myself in. Actually, now that I think about it, I have definitely been in the position of not feeling cool enough but that's not something I wish to discuss now... or ever, in fact. And again with 'Bumps'.

Anyway, I am going to leave you with the final song, Waste Away, which is my personal favourite.
