TWAS THE NIGHT THAT...

On Friday September 4th I watched Oh Wonder's first ever concert - which also happened to be the release day of their debut album and, subsequently, met them *see photo above* although it's pretty hard to miss, what with the smiles the size of Texas.

I went by myself - not something I particularly want to do again - where I dominated the front row with my post-work handbag (or known by men as a "suitcase") and Canon DSLR camera. I'm convinced that I annoyed the majority of the audience - if not with my camera lens that slightly touched their cheek, then with the enthusiasm that emanated from my mouth as I preceded to tell people who the band where and their back story - quite literally the back story, too.

Oh Wonder completely surpassed all of my expectations, but in hindsight, that's not hard to believe. Josephine's voice was pitch and tone perfect, the bassist was so chilled that I convinced myself he was meditating the whole way through - or, failing that, using "medicinal drugs" and Anthony & Josephine's entwined stage presence cannot be faulted. As I already knew at the start of the year when I first discovered them, Oh Wonder are - and were - perfect and will be going places some musicians can only dream of.

This is going to be a small post as I've already introduced y'all to them, but please enjoy - and feel all the jealous feels - the photos below.

Highlight of the night

Josephine & Anthony remembering that I'd blogged about them earlier on this year

Downside to the night

Nothing band related. The venue was hot and sticky and I was alone. Damn it.
