MYYRA: Erase. Rewind. Restart

I've come to the conclusion, however obvious it already is, that some of the best music comes out of Nashville. Okay, MYYRA - otherwise referred to as Paul Davidson - may not be a Nashville native, but damn is he good.

Paul Davidson's voice is deep, much like the lyrics and overall theme of his debut album Erase. Rewind. Restart. which debuted on the 9th June, 2015. The album explores scenarios such as letting go, re-starting, dealing with faded romantic relationships and moving on. It basically covers everything the album title says. It's quite simple really.

Now, I've been doing my research on MYYRA; where he came from, interviews, musical influences and all that relative-to-music jazz, and came across a particular interview with Nashville Arts, which has discussed, in-depth, his thoughts about the album. I'm just going to block quote it.

"Knowing that these songs are honest and to me have some kind of value and potential to help people get through things, like music has done for me in so many ways, I think it's worth doing".

In other words, my friends, Davidson isn't trying to create an album that will sell to get money and reach the Top 40 within an hour of release. He is staying true to himself and his style of music. If he becomes some global sensation, great, but if his music helps contribute to someone's life in some way, even better.

Regardless of how long it takes, this guy is going a long way.

Take a listen to the debut album below!
