I've been A Bit Rebellious...

They go by the name of Rebel Kites (see what I did there with the title? Always the hilarious and punny one) and they are releasing their debut EP “The Witnessing” tomorrow, Saturday April 11th. The statement of “excitinggggggggggggggggg” doesn’t quite cut my sentiments, but maybe a few more G’s and maybe an extra half a dozen N’s would help...

Now, for those of you that know me, you’ll know that I am not actually a rebellious kind whatsoever, so I am afraid to say that you may have (okay, let us just cut to the chase. You have) been cheated into reading this blog post. Although you’ve been cheated, you should actually count yourself lucky because I am about to share with you something that you need to hear - Rebel Kites’ debut EP, The Witnessing - plus a bunch of photos taken by the band members that I wish I had taken myself... but let’s not get carried away here.

To put it bluntly, their EP is hauntingly beautiful with lyrics, instrumentals, melodies and harmonies that would sit perfectly within an indie film. I’m kinda thinking the likes of Juno, Little Miss Sunshine and 500 Days of Summer - so nothing small at all.... I’m thinking big all the way, here. They were just my sentiments, but I think we need to see what others think of their EP as well to, y’ know, “prematurely set the mood”.

To not steal heavily crafted words from others, I am merely going to agree with the above two statements. The Witnessing is a debut EP that showcases talent and overall completion that not many new bands have the ability to produce straight off. The talent that is evidently there can take years to hone in and perfect, but it seems as if Rebel Kites already had the talent, but just needed to input the time (2 years, to be precise) into creating the final product.
