Chet Faker | Built On Glass

It's like, why am I only just hearing this all now? These beats are basically WOW. Not just 'wow'. N'NO, we need to capitalise EVERYTHING to describe the beauty of the music that has been put before us. We also need to immerse ourselves into everything he produces, and I mean everything.

I first came across Chet Faker when he covered the Blackstreet Boys' No Diggity three years ago on his EP 'Thinking In Textures' and i'm now so excited for his debut album "Built on Glass", which has already been released. Why I was not aware of his album release until now I do not know, but it's better late than never. I get to have his music on my summer playlist, which will be playing whilst i'm sitting in the sun, by the pool, with a cocktail (or in my case Fanta Lemon - like, who doesn't have Fanta Lemon on holiday?!) and a magazine - or 20. The setting is a bit premature and slightly optimistic for an English native, but i'm fast forwarding to my summer holiday. If that's a problem, go and invest in an imagination. Or a holiday. Or whatever is more financially convenient to you, I guess.

So, who is Chet Faker? Apart from an incredible musician that I may be the tiniest bit in love with? Well, he's an Australian born electronica musician who won 'Breakthrough Artist of the Year' at the Australian Independent Record Awards last October. He's also winning loads of other awards, but they are all too much to list.

I fear that my words describing him and what I would do with his music (woah, in a social, beach capacity and no dirty stuff at all) aren't enough to encourage you to invest in song-listening/album buying time, so, for this reason, and this reason alone, may I introduce you to some of his new songs from his new album. Gah, it's all new and I LOVE it.

Prepare to be bombarded with every song from the new album. Well, maybe not every song from the album but it is definitely love, what can you do?

Now, isn't this just a pure delight to listen to? It's so summer. So me. Hopefully so you too.

Release Your Problems

Well, hello soul.

That's just a snippet of the incredible music on his new album, which was released in April. If you like what you heard, then what I suggest you do, is if you like the ones above, check out the rest of the album. I know you want to and, trust me, you should. This is an album that the young, cool and slightly hipper than me folk would brand as "sick". So give it a listen here:
