On first speculation, you may be wonder-ing why my blog post title is a little, well, obscure and of no meaning when compared to previous blog posts. Well, actually, it has every meaning. To this post, anyway. I suggest you carry on reading.
So whilst I was on my music searching escapades (which actually translates to job applications day) I came across Oh Wonder. Sometimes it's the most random-est of times that you find such a perfect subject to talk about. But hey, here we are talking about Oh Wonder.
Their voices naturally combine to make a relaxing sound that can only be described as perfect. If you're into The XX then you'll love this singing and songwriting duo, which compromises of Anthony and Josephine. They have incorporated random, yet everyday sounds, into their music to create a unique and chilled out vibe.
Their music isn't for someone searching for something to get ready to go out to (maybe a remix wouldn't go a miss, though) or someone looking for perfect wild party starter. No. Their music is for the kind of person who wants to chill out with a group of friends on an evening in front of the fire with a bottle of wine (and Cheese platter, if you're posh) or small, intimate BBQ in the summer. You know, the kind of place where the music is appreciated.
Now, what I love most (and ironically dislike all at the same time) is the fact that they have been very creative with their album release. We have to wait until September 2015 before their debut album comes out (annoying) BUT they are releasing one single a month in the run up to the penultimate album launch (cunning, clever and well, yay!). The first song they have released is called "Lose It" and was released February 1st. It was played on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show and, as a result, became so popular they were forced to release it on I-Tunes. Below is the first single to be released. The next single is due to be released March 1st. I'm excited.
One of my favourites from their Soundcloud channel is called Shark, which you can listen to it below.
i won't go on much more about them because the rest of their music is waiting over on Soundcloud for you to listen to and enjoy. It says more words than I ever could.
