Best known as the queen of British soul, Mica Paris took the audience by storm at an intimate performance last night at Mayfair restaurant Quaglino’s.
Mica paid tribute to jazz icon Ella Fitzgerald celebrating her 100th birthday and her new album ‘Mica Sings Ella, produced by Guy Jeffrey Barker MBE. She performed classic Ella hits including ‘Every time we say goodbye’ and she had the audience on their feet when she passionately sang ‘Summertime’.
Boasting a career full of top-ten hit singles, a platinum-selling album and collaborations with Prince and Jools Holland, Mica also led a career in the West End, playing a lead role in the UK tour of Chicago and in Love Me Tender, the Elvis Presley musical.
Mica was delighted to be performing to the sell-out audience as she ensure that the whole evening was about Ella.
