Inspired by musicians such as Carole King, Carly Simon and Jeff Buckley, it would only be right that Essex girl Anna Pancaldi's voice is full of emotion, soul, experience and ultimate control. She's been on the music scene for a while and has achieved so much, so it's only right that we blog about this lady now before she has firmly made it within the music industry.
Anna has just returned from an American tour where she played venues such as the Hotel Cafe in L.A and the Rockwood Music Hall in NYC, had a song featured in a Levis Ad campaign and... Even has her own Gin that she sells at her gigs. If her music wasn't enough to influence you into watching her live, then homemade Gin definitely is. In all honesty though, what sways you is irrelevant so long as you go watch her in an intimate venue before she's touring arenas. You'll regret it if you don't.
I very rarely embed music videos into my blog posts, but I just think the video for 'Runaway' is so beautifully shot... And 'Out Ahead'... Damn it, and 'Black Tears'. I'm literally in love with 100% of her Youtube channel and her voice and all the lyrics.
But this isn't it folks. I have been lucky enough to listen to her new single, Keep On Keeping On, which is featured on her 3rd EP, Sweet Charity, out for release on October 10th. Her new single, in comparison to the others featured within this post, is just as vocally soulful, but my favourite out of all the other singles I've listened to. Why? The single is a powerhouse in every way. From the vocals to the lyrics and the chorus to the meaning of the song. Keep On Keeping On is quickly going to become my motivational song that you sometimes need to hear when things feel just a little bit shit and there's a real lack of motivation.
I'm very excited to hear the remainder of her third EP and to see where she is heading within the music world. God knows it's going to be far.
