The Swears

The Swears are a 2 piece indie-pop band compromising of Rachel Grainger-Jones and David Welton from London, UK, and are now based in Auckland New Zealand. All of the good things in Britain leave or suddenly disappear (BN Biscuits, I'm mainly looking at you. How could you just leave me like that in the 90s?), but I guess we can still claim The Swears as ours. We can try at least, anyway.

Their harmonies are perfect, the lyrics cool and the occasional electronic backing a teeny bit weird - but it works, I like it and that is the main thing. Plus they give out all of their music for free because The Swears believe in the freedom of music. Hits download multiple times.

I think The Swears' music would be perfect company for a road trip; not the kind of road trip that you take to the supermarket with the whole family household squeezed on to the back seat - no, I'm thinking one of those really picturesque landscaped road trips that would take you from the highest point north to the lowest point south. It would be even better if you were doing one of those European road trips.

Their first album The Coming Storm would be perfect for driving through Germany, wouldn't it?

This perfect for France, maybe even Italy. Apt that the album title is Europa. Right?

Their new album (could it be EP?) BOTS would be perfect to play when you make it to your final destination, parked with your car facing towards the sea with the sunset going down in the distance and you, feeling so unbelievably happy, revel in the fact that you just had the best summer ever with the best music and company.

Well, it appears that I have just planned your road trip music for completely free. Lucky you and, if you're not going on a road trip any time soon then, quite simply, enjoy the music and give them a follow.
